Let's Go Racing With Austin Dillon:Driver of the # 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado!

It's time for another blog! Yet this one is not about a race or a track it is about a driver! We are going to talk about driver of the #3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado, Austin Dillon. Many of you fans know who Austin Dillon is and his story and also about his brother Ty Dillon. For those of you who don't know much about him or just want to hear more, this is the blog for you! I am going to talk about Austin, his racing career so far and also some fan views on Austin Dillon and even an exciting phone call one lucky twitter friend of mine got. So here we go! Let's go racing with Austin Dillon!

Austin Dillon was born April 27th, 1990 and races for NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and did a little for Nationwide as well, he is also the grandson of Richard Childress. When he drove the # 33 for Kevin Harvick Inc. in Nationwide he obtained 1 top 10 win from that. He drives the # 3 full time for RCR (Richard Childress Racing). His Brother, Ty Dillon races for RCR as well in the ARCA Racing Series. His residence is in Lexington, North Carolina and his hobbies are Hunting, Dirt Biking, and Paintball.

He made his debut into the Truck Series in 2009 on September 5th at Iowa Speedway. He also made his debut into the Nationwide Series in 2008 on September 7th at Richmond International Speedway. Also got a career best finish at Memphis Motorsports Park, finishing 4th on October 25th, 2008.  Also, Austin earned Rookie of the Year honors and finished second in 2008 Truck point standings.  Overall in his Truck Series, Austin has obtained 2 wins,  16 top tens, and 8 poles. His first race was 2009 Lucas Oil 200 (Iowa), and his first win was 2010 Lucas Oil 2oo. In 2011, Austin has had a good start to his season, had trouble on the first race with a wreck, but this weekend at Phoenix he earned a top 5 finish. I can say that he is making moves every race and I wish him the best of luck this season!

Beyond racing, Austin Dillon has impacted multiple fans and given them the best views on him. I went on Twitter and asked people to describe something about Austin they liked or something that caught their attention about him. I got multiple responses and told those people i would gladly share their responses with my blog readers! :) So here we go with what fans think about Austin Dillon!

@teripolzin said"Austin Dillon is such a nice young man! I've been his facebook friend for over a year and when I msg him he still answers!"
@teripolzin "I sent him greetings on his graduation last year and he answered back.Very nice southern boy with manners!!"
Thank you for your insight Teri! :) I liked how you expressed how well-mannered and kind Austin is! :) Thank you!

@JBrooke6_20 said "I like the fact that you can tell he's not trying to ride on his grandfather's coattails. He has his own individual talent."
Well Spoken Jordan! :) That's a very modest and kind thing to say, it shows the driver is here to race and not just run off and do it because someone is family. :) Thanks for your insight

@ClayMakerKahne4 Said "Hes super fan friendly!!! Thats the best quality for any driver in NASCAR"
Yes i agree 100% with all that you said! :) That is the best quality for any driver to have! :)

@ClayMakerKahne4 Also Said "Hes suuuper hot. and his dad is a dork :)"
Oh So True and funny! :) I think this is the best comment so far :)

All these tweets prove that many fans love Austin Dillon and find him as a very nice, well-manner NASCAR Driver and I agree with each and every one of them and thank them for giving me their insight on what they thought! Now i decided to ask a great twitter friend of mine to tell me about her Austin Dillon experience and that girl is Ashley Schindler. She was a lucky fan who got interviewed but also got a call from Austin! I asked her to tell me her reaction to the call and interview and here is what she had to say about it!

"Okay! So I was interviewed for being an extreme nascar fan and they incorporated my blog into it. About halfway through the interview the people interviewing me were acting weird and I thought I was doing something wrong.. The phone rang and my mom answered it, giving me a weird look. Some lady named amy was on the phone And she was like happy birthday then she said she had someone there that wanted to say happy birthday and it was austin. As u saw lol I spazzed. He asked me questions and wished me a happy birthday again and my day was totally made! I thoughtit was super awesome and soo sweet to take the time to call me!"

This very experience for Ashley was truly the best birthday present she could get. The video of Austin calling her is on Youtube, she also changed her twitter username from nascarchick_20 to nascarchick_3 after the phone call. This day was super special for Ashley and showed how awesome drivers, like Austin Dillon can be! :) You can all say it was truly awesome that Austin Dillon did this for a fan!

Well this has been a blog for Austin Dillon, you got a taste of his life, how he started and where he has gotten so far. I can tell you for sure this is only the beginning for Austin Dillon and that #3 car. You also got a look in at fan perspective and also got to see how one fan got a birthday wish that they will never forget! I hope you enjoyed this blog and until next time enjoy the NASCAR 2011 SEASON! :)

Dreams Come True: 2011 Daytona 500

Well this year the Daytona 500 had new rules and more to it leaving many fans wondering if it would live up to it's expectations, and yes it did! An amazing start and finish, this 500 has left fans breathless and one driver, named Trevor Bayne a happy camper. Trevor Bayne, who turned 20 just yesterday won the Daytona 500. He is the youngest NASCAR driver to win it. Let me tell you all i am truly shocked and impressed with what Trevor brought. Some epic wrecks and more, he pulled out a win that fans can say was truly a work of God. Happy Bayne, went to Victory Lane and was beyond joyful. Congrats Trevor Bayne on winning, you deserved it and won it well!
Now let's get to the Daytona 500 race entirely! This year the drivers had to go with a new way, "dancing partners" many have said as a way of driving. Not like last year with everyone at it, but now pairs trying to get one another to the front. After watching Nationwide on Saturday, many were skeptical about how today's race would end up. I saw that the pairs worked very well for many drivers. In honor of Dale Earnhardt Sr. at the 3rd Lap everyone was silent and raised three fingers in honor of him. A great and excellent way to pay tribute to one amazing and never forgotten NASCAR driver. It only took to lap 5 for our first caution to emerge, Kyle Busch spun, but recovered well causing no wrecks. At lap 11 J.J. Yeley who qualified into the 500 had issues himself, a tough break for him. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was almost spun by Martin Truex Jr, but was not and recovered well himself.

Little later into the race we picked up another caution for Kevin Harvick, driver of the number 29 Budweiser, his engine gave and blew. He was done for the day and many unhappy Harvick fans were disappointed. Nothing could prepare fans for what happened at lap 29 was the BIG ONE. In better words, it was 1 of 2 BIG ONES. It started with one driver sliding a bit then multiple cars began to crash into one another, the end result was 17 cars in the wreck, 12 had to go to the garage, and the other 5 could pit and get the damage taken care of. The rest of the race there were multiple cautions from the #37 getting into the wall, to Jeff Burton's engine blowing out, Matt Kenseth hitting the wall, Travis Kvapil having a bad run and more. NASCAR had a total of 16 cautions, a new recored beating the old 12 cautions for Daytona. Not only that but there was also 69+ leader changes beating the old record as well.

Drivers switched partners many times, wherever they may be at on the track. Behind or in front, drivers did there best to pull forward to the front. Getting down to the last 20 laps, fans everywhere were getting to the edge of their seats. I know me and other fellow Twitter people were jumping like crazy at the last 10-5 laps. We went into the "Green-White-Checkered" rule. Go around once on green, take white, next lap is the checked. Well one more wreck to get 16 cautions, then they had one more go at "G-W-C". Well with everyone on the edge of their seat, Trevor Bayne lead the way and pulled out the victory. Carl Edwards came in second, followed by the rest of the line up. What a way to start a 2011 season i say! :) 200 laps of intense racing at Daytona left fans speechless and happy. Even on twitter Trevor Bayne and other drives became "Trending" topics. :) Fans approve this awesome Race.

I picked 5 Drivers to be possible wins, also picked a "Dark Horse" and "Wild Card" Pick as well. one of those drivers did win for me and i am proud of it.

-lingered in the back and then moved up with Kyle
-Finished: 17th

DARK HORSE: Trevor Bayne

-Youngest Driver in NASCAR to win Daytona 500

WILD CARD: Jamie McMurray

Overall, the guys i picked had a tough but good day. I am proud that Trevor Bayne, my dark horse pick one. What a incredible win to obtain, and good job to Jamie Mac as well on his top 10. Let me tell you all this opened up the 2011 season very well! I cannot wait to go to Phoenix next weekend for the Subway Fresh Fit! :) I will see you all there and blog about another amazing race! WELCOME BACK NASCAR!

Questions:
1) how do you feel about Trevor Bayne Winning?

2011 NASCAR season is coming up: who i picked this season! (Will Change Over Season)

As many of you know, I am a diehard Scott Speed Fan. That will never change, EVER. This season i decided to ask y'all who would be some good choice to cheer for this 2011 season.
SCOTT SPEED WILL ALWAYS BE NUMBER ONE AND WON'T BE REPLACED! SPEED 4 HIRE! (Photo Thanks To Jordan on Twitter)
After looking at the picks and deciding hard i made a few lists: 1)top 5 to cheer on every race, 2) dark horse pick, 3) chase pick, and 4) Wild Cards. I picked many drivers and will explain briefly why. Please do not hate on the ones i picked! :) Let's get started!

In the top 5 category. Number 1 is Brian Vickers. Red Bull Racing and driver of the number #83 i have always admired Brian. He's got passion and drive for this sport, he is back for 2011 and i can for sure see him doing a wonderful job. He is for sure in my books,  A CHASE CONTENDER.  I am so glad to see him back in the #83 and doing well! Good Luck Brian!

Number 2 is Kyle "Rowdy" Busch. I picked him, not only because he had an outstanding 2010 season, but also because he walks into NASCAR with a full attitude and isn't afraid to get down and dirty. From Nationwide, Trucks, all the way to Sprint Cup, Rowdy was on the ball. I hope he has a great 2011 and goes walking away with many victories! He is always in my books,  A CHASE CONTENDER.

Number 3 is Kasey Kahne. Driver of the #9 Budweiser is the 2010 season, he then transferred into Red Bull Racing. He will be driving the number 4! He has a lot of potential with being rookie of the year, and also having many poles a few great wins. I have to say i can see a lot coming from this driver in the 2011 season. He is also in the lines of being a CHASE CONTENDER.

Number 4 is Juan Pablo Montoya. He is the driver of the #42! He's got a lot of skill and ability to do well in 2011. He has the car, can make the races and run them well. He is a CHASE CONTENDER. Montoya will also fall under the category of DARK HORSE.

Last but not least number 5 goes to Joey Logano. Nicknamed "Slice Bread" and is the driver of #20 Joe Gibbs Racing. A young driver, ready and eager to continue and grow in the racing of NASCAR. Being in the heat of race, leading races, or even winning (New Hampshire) He's made a big statement. He is under CHASE CONTENDER and DARK HORSE as well.

The list of top 5 doesn't mean they are gonna be my favorite, but they are the ones i will watch the most. As for the list of chase contenders. Here is what i believe will possibly be the chase contenders so far. NOTE: This is my opinion and few, i am not saying this is what you should follow! also this will change over the entire 2011 season!
