So this is my first major personal blog, as in this blog is written about how I feel. I am not here to offend anyone.. i am not here to make anyone upset.. i am not here to bash drivers or teams. This blog is strictly for me to express some things i have i noticed over this past year. I hope you all understand this and enjoy this blog as I know I was debating if I was really going to post it or not. Here we go.............

What a great song by Tom Petty, "I wont back down". I found this song to fit these two drivers extremely well. Scott Speed is never backing down by finding new rides and also just staying himself. Kasey Kahne is not backing down even when things are tough and not working in his favor. When I observe these two drivers I see that they mirror each other in very unique ways. I plan to explain what both of them have... and then to tie them together to explain what i mean.

Let's start with Scott Speed shall we? He began racing at a young age and ended up competing in Formula 1. Red Bull picked him up and he raced to his best ability, he eventually raced in the NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series for a little time then moved to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Red Bull Racing welcomed Scott with open arms and he joined and learned about NASCAR. He was never a top 5 contender, a chase contender, but he did have a few top 10's and his wild, but amazing personality balanced him out well. Last year many fans heard his contract was terminated and he would be done with RBR at the end of the season. I was personally shocked with what happened, I knew that Kasey Kahne was coming for a year and Brian Vickers was out last year with blood clots. A dream for a three car team never happened and Scott's time with RBR came to an end. Many $$ fans were fired up about it and didn't think this could happen. I was just dazed by the entire event, but then hearing the news of KHI in august made me believe that this will help him get back in the racing action. He also had a chance to compete in Indy... but his car did get ruined and he was unable to. Basically that has been the shorter version of what happened to former RBR athlete. He also is expecting a baby girl with his wife, Amanda Speed. If you want more information on Scott follow him on twitter.. he is a riot.

Now that was a long paragraph no? Let's talk about Kasey Kahne now. Born in Washington, Kasey began racing at a young age. He moved mountains and made a statement and soon was in NASCAR Sprint Cup. He won the fan vote for the all-star race and won the race. He raced for RPM for a long time... last year was his last year before he would go to RBR for a year then onto Hendricks. Long story short was that Kasey had a rough season and after a race he was released from RPM and he moved in at RBR and raced in the #83 for the rest of the season. Scott and Kasey became good friends and so did Brian and Kasey. This year Kasey races the #4 for RBR and has had some top 5's, and top 10's and 20's. He also has had some extremely tough races. He won in trucks at Darlington and has come very close to winning some other races. This weekend he raced in the #7 for JR Motorsports in NASCAR Nationwide Series. Kasey Kahne is a great driver.. he has a lot to offer and after this season he will head to Hendricks to continue his racing career.

Now how many of you who read my blog are asking "Laura why are you telling us information about these drivers?" well the answer is simple... I want you to see what happened last year and then i can expand on how they relate to one another and at the same time how they are still unique. Also this is going to be a pretty long blog so keep on reading cause it is not over yet..............we are now going to talk about fan support for these two drivers! =:D

The fan base is incredible for Kasey Kahne. Fans love him and support till the end! It's crazy how many fans say wonderful things! :) Kasey Kahne has a good fan base and he carries himself very well! As for Scott Speed he has a great fan base even if there are not as many fans as some drivers. All the fans of either of these drivers and dedicated and loyal to their driver no matter what. NASCAR FANS RULE!

Did i make anyone hungry? Sorry! =:D

What makes these two drivers alike?? Well they are both racing or have raced for RBR and have been in "Sticky Situations"(hence the cinnamon roll picture). Last year Scott seemed to have a tough car and many fans believe he had a bad car and if he had a better one he could of won more. As for Kasey it was the same story at RPM last year.. then he moved in to RBR this year and has had a few races that have been hard and just not good. I AM NOT BASHING RPM OR RBR... i am just fascinated by what has happened this year with KK and what happened last season with $$.

As for next year, well Kasey will be at Hendricks and we only hope the best for him and hope he can get some wins.. even this season with RBR we are hoping to see that win (it's coming soon! :D). Scott will race in August with KHI in NNS and who knows we may see him doing something with racing next season! Fans can only hope for the best for their drivers and just keep on cheering them on in the good and bad! I would also like to say that KK and $$ both tweet.. Scott tweets about his life and his wife and himself and is extremely funny. KK tweets about his teams, himself and other stuff! Well Scott Speed and Kasey Kahne are two totally different drivers.. but they have both been with RBR. Regardless of a win or loss, they both have prevailed and are doing or have done their best! I only wish them the best luck and know they will keep on pushing forward! So... now that i am done rambling what did you all think of this blog? This was a personal blog.. as in my opinion and view on what I see. I am not trying to get anyone mad at me or get anyone saying i am a bad person. I am only expressing what i saw and it just fascinated me and i thought I should blog about it! I hope this didn't bore anyone to tears and I hope you all still like this blog! =:D

Red Bull Racing Guys work as one at Daytona...Kahne&Vickers showing what they have

Well i feel as though it is time for a new blog. I know it's been a week since the night race at Daytona happened, but i feel like blogging about it anyway! Is everyone ready? Okay here we go!!! So as you all know we went back to race at Daytona in the evening... after Trevor Bayne winning the Daytona 500 in the start of the season anyone could walk away victorious. If you have read my previous blog it talked about that very winner.. yes.. David Ragan. His win was a great moment for many fans and it was well worth the watch. Now let's talk about RBR and how Kasey Kahne & Brian Vickers worked together as much as they could that night.

At Daytona you want to have a "Dancing Partner" or so they say. Someone you can get in front of or behind.. and use them to help make moves. Many common partners paired up and the two Red Bull toyota's paired up at the very beginning of the race. I had a feeling they would stick it out to the end.. which they did until Brian got caught up in a wreck and Kasey was left without a partner. Overall the entire race they stayed teamed up and lead many laps. Red Bull had great strategy and worked and pushed to the very last minute.

Now why in the world am i talking about RBR? I mean come on after the Scott Speed events that happened last year.. i didn't even know if i was going to still love RBR. I do.. love brian, kasey and cole. I talk about them because this just shows the fact that  RBR is working had to make the cars work to the best ability that they can. Brian and Kasey are also working very hard to make the best finishes they can at each track they race at.

I did not ask for fan opinion on this one. The reason was because i wanted to talk about what i see in RBR and what makes them a possible chase contender group. They have the cars and drivers to get into the chase.. each race i watch them improve as much as they can. I know sometimes the races go and RBR walks out with a top 20.. but we have been getting some top 5's and top 10's.

Brian Vickers and Kasey Kahne are showing them what they have to offer. Even with only one year for Kahne, he still wants to win and bring home some victories for RBR. Vickers came back after having last season not work out due to blood clots. This team is working very hard each and every race to do their absolute best. I honestly have no idea if RBR will be around next season, or what is going on but i do know i will support the drivers no matter what.

Also in this blog i want to express that Scott Speed will always be number 1 to me, Kasey and Brian are 2&3. It is who i am and even if Kasey is better than Scott.. Speed will always remain number 1 to me. Scott will race for KHI in august and I am very excited for that! So this blog is now over too! This was a personal/analysis blog for me. I hope I did not bore you all to tears. I also hope everyone enjoy's tonight's race!

Night Racing at it's finest: David Ragan Wins at Daytona

Well i am back and blogging! Sorry for being away so long.. i think i just didn't have the feel to blog and now after yesterday's great race.. i can blog! So who all was expecting last nights outcome? All i can say is that i was shocked when it ended. The race blew by and i was going "wow" at the end. I am going to briefly describe the race.. but then we are going to talk about the winner.. yes people.. David Ragan. So here we go!!!!

The race was at Daytona last night, it was 160 laps of dance partners and pure strategy. Many drivers paired up with teammates and did well. Brian Vickers and Kasey Kahne both paired up  and lead laps and stayed up front all night. Matt Kenseth and David Ragan also paired up many times, same for Joey Logano and Kyle Busch. A few cautions came out... many for spins and others... Trevor Bayne was unlucky and spun early in the race and the car could not be repaired. Overall the race was intense and left everyone on the edge until the checkered flag flew down.

We really had no idea who was going to win this race, it honestly could be anyone. Many people thought the red bull cars would pull away, others thought hendrick cars would win it too. Well, when a "big one" happened.. many drivers were left without their original dancing partners. Kasey and Joey paired up at the end... and many others did the same. David Ragan was up front.. and when we had 3 laps.. he ran them hard... even with a huge wreck forming. Ragan got his first cup victory last night and twitter and the crowds were booming with cheer and congrats.

I asked some fans on twitter what they thought of  David's win and these are the responses i got:

All these comments are nice and oh so true. This was a well deserved win for the #6 team. Even Jordan who talked about her grandma just showed the reason to never give up on the underdogs. I know that all of us were cheering David to win and when he did we were overjoyed. Seeing the fan base so strong at this time was just incredible. 

I hope to see David pull off more victories and hope this race gave him the incredible boost of confidence that he needed and deserved. He raced his way to victory lane and earned the trophy well last night.

The Stars Come Out.. The Gloves Come Off... Dark Horses Emerge in Victory Lane

This is a more personal blog, as in i am going to talk about the race but focus more on the fact of how i decided on who i wanted to cheer on this weekend. Well as everyone knew it was All-Star race weekend! Which as everyone could tell is a race worth watching. Now there is the showdown (drivers who haven't gotten in already) and then the actual race. This year i picked Martin Truex Jr. to make it in to the showdown, as for a dark horse i picked David Ragan. Ragan was able to get the pole for the race, I had a feeling we would see a win. The showdown has a total of 40 laps, 20 laps, then a caution, then 20 more laps. I could tell you everything else but i would rather not bore you all to death. In the end Ragan came out victorious in VL. That was a very exciting moment for many fans on Twitter and it was David's first time into the All-Star Race. Also Brad K. came second and competed in the All-Star Race.

Next onto the main event: The All-Star race. Before all this as tradition follows, all the guys and their pit crews come out and the fans cheer or boo them. After this event is done, we have the invocation and national anthem. Drivers are ready for the craziest race of the season. Now for all you reading this....who are saying "Laura what the heck are you talking about? All-Star Race? Do points count?" well i can answer that for you.. points do not count.. these boys are racing for 1 million dollars. I also will mention that Kasey Kahne won the burnout competition and won 10,000 for the Kasey Kahne Foundation. Now as I picked my main guy: Kasey Kahne, my dark horses: David Ragan and Carl Edwards. I watched the race from a restaurant and then re-watched it this afternoon. Carl Edwards won and earned the million dollars.

At this time i would also like to give a congrats to Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on winning the nationwide race today at Iowa. He is the first only nationwide driver to win so far so that was a major bonus! Congrats to him, his family and team and all fans! :D I was super proud of that moment!

Let's talk about what it means to pick a dark horse and the reasoning behind why at least I pick them. For me, a dark horse is not someone who deserves pity points or anything, I feel it is a driver who can kick some major butt and pull off a victory. I am very careful with my dark horse pick, they are my underdog pick and i usually pick them quiet often. I picked David Ragan because that guy can kick major butt and can pull off a victory no doubt! :D Same for Carl Edwards, he's got the skill and ability to be an underdog and come out strong and finish victorious.

I am not a fan that picks them because they don't get a ton of attention. I pick them by the way i see them race weekend and week out. I watch the way they carry out after a race, i always look for positive attitude, even with frustration. I also watch they way they are with fans and the media for that matter. I thought this blog would show that even when you pick someone who ends up winning.. yes it can be dumb luck... but for me i pick my dark horses over many things. No matter how good or bad my drivers end up i am always proud to be a fan regardless.

Okay this blog is done! Party because Laura has stopped talking about herself. I am only kidding as you all know this is jut another style of blogging :). I like to do fan, personal, informative. This was a blog to sorta of re-cap a race weekend, but also get a little bit of a perspective on how the minds of NASCAR fans think :) Anyway this blog is done... be sure for a new blog about the race and the cars of Red Bull being covered in fan pictures :) I am proud to say 3 pictures of mine.. 2 on KK's car and 1 will be on pit wall (as they emailed me and told me). :D Anyway everyone have a wonderful weekday!

NASCAR Fans: The Heart and Soul of NASCAR. A look into the passion that makes NASCAR Fans all around the world :)

I decided to write a blog about you all.. yes fans of NASCAR. Those who have the items from drivers, those who block out sundays and saturdays for races. Each and every one of you who read this blog should no this blog is no hate intended and it's gonna be short and sweet and honest! So let's stop talking and start expressing about how much we love NASCAR fans!

So fans, are they good, bad, or just plain old rude? I could say all of the above, yet let me tell you that is what makes up a NASCAR fan. We are going to cheer for our driver and be upset when they don't finish, get wrecked, or something just doesn't go right for them. Honestly on Twitter people will defend their driver if it's the last thing they will do. That's a fans dedication to the sport, the ability to go out on a limb and tell someone how they really feel.

Next let's get onto the whole aspect of being a fan. You are not a fan if you just say "I like that driver because ____________(insert friends name) likes them" or you cannot be a band-wagoner. Those are the type of fans people don't want to meet. Being a fan means sticking with your driver through the good times and the bad times, being able to be proud of them regardless on how good or bad they finish a race. I know at times it's hard to watch your driver fall, but being a great fan means sticking by their side no matter what.

I think it's appropriate that i share a little story about me being a fan for my driver, Scott Speed. He bounced from Formula 1, to trucks to cup. It was a lot of jumps and i agree with many of you that he should of stayed and maybe done nationwide before cup. In the end Scott Speed was out of a job and done with Red Bull. Even when he was done, he still thanked Red Bull for everything they had given him since the start. As frustrated as a I was when Scott was done i kept thinking i must support even in the roughest times. I have supported Scott and will continue to. He is an excellent driver and will find his calling soon as his qualifies for Indy and more. No matter what happened though I remained faithful to Scott Speed as a fan and i always will.

Now that i am done talking about myself the last aspect is that you can cheer for many drivers. You don't have to only like one driver. I am going to admit you can have a favorite driver, then cheer for other ones you think are good. I feel as though to be a NASCAR fan you can cheer for whoever you want with no problems. If people hassle you about it then it doesn't matter because your a fan and you don't care what someone has to say about it.

I guess to me that is what sums up on being a NASCAR fan, I am not saying this is how to be one or how you should act. This is how i see fans interact on Twitter, In Person, etc. NASCAR fans in my opinion are truly the best. Like basketball and baseball, even football and hockey fans. We are an extreme diverse group of fans and I love seeing each and every single one's personality come out during a race. Being a NASCAR fan is a pleasure and I love meeting you new fans everyday! :)

A HurriKahne is coming... he's tamed the lady in black in trucks and got a pole at Darlington for cup.. it's Kasey Kahne

I thought i would write about a driver. I covered a article about him once but thought i would go back and write a new and improved one about him. He tamed the lady in black at the truck race he raced for Kyle and Samantha Busch. He had knee surgery, not once but twice, yet the second time it was only on one knee. He's driving for Red Bull Racing and will go to Hendricks next year. He also is from Enumclaw, Washington and has a brother, Kale and sister, Shannon. He is Kasey Kenneth Kahne. Now many people may ask why i am writing a blog about him. The answer is simple: he is a very unique driver. He stands out in the best way possible. He's a man on a mission to say the least. All drivers in NASCAR are unique and have a way to warm fans hearts and make a goal of being the best they can be. This time i will focus on Kasey.

Kasey is considered the "Pretty Boy" of NASCAR. Yes, there is no doubt he has the looks to make girls melt and guys jealous. Yet those who only look at him for the looks need to re-evalutate how they see him. Kasey is like everyone else and loves to race and also loves having a beer and going out on the lake with family and friends. He is a free spirit who keeps it real in racing as he does outside out of his career. When people say fans just like him for his looks they need to think twice when saying such a statement. Kasey is very friendly, but also shy and reserved. He doesn't show off and he tries to keep it low key. That's how people like to see drivers.

Fans. Kasey takes time for his fans, from taking pictures and signing autographs. Sometimes he even makes small talk with the people who have waited a while to see him in person. Even on twitter kasey will talk about what he is doing, wishing people a happy birthday or will even have a q&a. Being active with fans is a way to keep the good vibes going. Even though Kasey is sometimes shy, he makes time for his fans and trust me his fans appreciate it a lot.

The Kasey Kahne Foundation. A foundation started not long ago that Kasey wanted to do in order to help those at the Ronald McDonald houses. he will visit those kids, bring them to races, he does everything to give them the best NASCAR feeling and experience in the world. Not only that, but he has Klub Kahne which is where fans can get apart of special events and more. KKR, (Kasey Kahne Racing) competes in WOO (World of Outlaws) and also they have their own racing shop in North Carolina. Tammy Kahne and Kasey's siblings help out to keep the shop going, fans happy and a lot of success.  There is not a doubt in my mind that Kasey loves working on his own cars, racing, and making time for fans.

Overall Kahne is one of kind, you can't find a duplicate anywhere else. He brings many smiles to a lot of kids and people. I decided to ask fans what they thought of him. Do they love him or hate him? Respect things he does? Now i am going to share those with you, I appreciate all these twitter people taking the time to give me some feedback!

Darlington's Lady In Black: leaves many stripes for the drivers to take home

Well what a night race it was on Saturday night for sprint cup guys. Returning to Darlington's "lady in black" is a memory for many drivers. This track is vicious and usually by the end of the night each driver is sporting a new strip from the lady herself. Rookies to this racetrack had no idea what they were in for and only could hope that the lady would favor them and be nice. The race was pure craziness from the start of the race down to the end. Now let's recap some of those awesome events now! Boogity Boogity Boogity let's go Racing and Bloging!

Pole-Sitter Kasey Kahne lead the way in the beginning only losing it to Ryan Newman and a few others along the way. He lead the most laps and worked his hardest to keep up even when he scrapped the wall a couple times. Many drivers touched the wall that night. Multiple wrecks happened along the way as well, the most epic one in my opinion was David Ragan and Brian Vickers. The end result was Brian's side was torn open like a can opener, and David had some damage as well. Eventually Brian did get back onto the track and so did David. Juan Pablo Montoya and Jimmie Johnson also got into it a little as well but both recovered and fixed any damage that had happened. I will soon get into the much talk about "Kevin Harvick VS. Kyle Busch".

As the race continued on, many drivers pitted and kept on going. Only a few cautions came out, but for many drivers that was a good use of strategy to help figure out how they were going to get to the front or even able to stay in the front. A few pit roads incidents happened as well, but they were minor and didn't cause anything major. The race continued with green-flag stops and the end was something nobody was expecting..

NOW WE SKIP TO END... Cause i really don't feel like boring you all with this middle race stuff! :)

The last final laps were very intense. A final pitstop would determine whether the top group of drivers (Edwards, Kahne, etc..) would be able to make it back up to finish the race and win. Regan Smith and Brad K stayed out and hoped it was a good decision. They rolled out only to have a couple more cautions fly and even a GWC (Green-White-Checkered). Regan Smith was in favor by the lady in black and was able to win. Well what a win it was for him, but no one seemed to watch then when Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch were ready to really "Boys Have At It".

I couldn't have been more happy to see Regan finish strong and win Darlington. Kasey finished 4th and after his interview he knew he did well but of course their is always room for improvement. Carl Edwards had finished second and was disappointed, but overly happy for Smith. The race was really a ride for all the drivers and memory Smith will never forget.

Now as for the whole Kevin Harvick VS Rowdy Busch drama, Kyle got into Harvick and Harvick ended up spinning. Once on pit road Harvick was ready to have a word with Busch but Kyle drove off as Harvicks car went into the side of the pit wall. Both of the guys got called to talk about the matter and Twitter went off the wall with what was happening.

I appreciate all this feedback from the race. I agree with them all that Regan should of been focused on then the whole KH VS KB drama but that is NASCAR for ya plain and simple. :) Well it was a race to watch and the next one to come is the infamous Monster Mile at dover!
