Hurricane Irene is making her way up the East Coast......

The Weather Channel shows the path and what times
So this is a small and informative blog about the Hurricane that is blowing up the east coast this weekend. It made landfall in North Carolina today and will go up the entire side of the east coast. It will have damaging winds, and rainfall. It is so far a category 1 storm... it went from a category 3 to a category one which is good news... now why in the world am i talking about this storm?

Most of my tweeps live on the east coast and are right on top of it.. so please stay safe! When you hear about evacuations and safety plans please listen to them. Do not be the idiot that thinks if they don't listen they won't get hurt. I know that NC got hit now and had 3 tornado touchdowns.. it will move up and most likely be hanging out in NYC and more tomorrow... it should be leaving by Sunday late evening or possibly Monday. So if you are in the areas of this storm please take all cautions and be safe!
Tornado Picture (3 in NC THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM)
For any more information look at your local television stations, and keep your eyes up for when and where Irene will cause trouble. Also CNN and more websites are showing live feeds of where Irene is and what to expect. Most states are getting prepared and all, knowing the damage may be bad. Also many states may go without electricity and more. So everyone in the line of this hurricane stay safe! I cannot stress this enough!

Bristol MotorSpeedway @ Night
I love all my tweeps! Like I said I am always on there so if you wanna tell me what's going on cool. On a brighter note we do have a night race tonight at Bristol! So go and enjoy the race if you are there in person or enjoy it from the comforts of your couch! Everyone have safe night and safe weekend and thanks for reading this blog!

Scott Speed Returns to Sprint Cup For Rest of Season

Alright so this is gonna be another short blog... but it is extremely important that I get out the exciting news! I have been writing a lot of blogs about Scott lately and I cannot help it, good things just keep coming his way! :D Well today I was woken up by news that Scott has a full ride for the rest of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Season! :D How exciting is that? Here is the article from facebook!

SCOTT SPEED TO RUN THE 46 FORD FUSION THE REST OF THE YEAR

by Scott Speed on Monday, 22 August 2011 at 07:13

SCOTT SPEED TO RUN THE 46 FORD FUSION THE REST OF THE YEAR

CHARLOTTE, NC (August 22, 2011) – Scott Speed has signed on with Whitney Motorsports to run the rest of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) races in the No. 46 Ford Fusion.

Speed has recently been driving the No. 37 Ford Fusion and has qualified for all three NSCS races that he has attempted. Speed also just came off of a sixth place finish for Kevin Harvick Inc. this past weekend in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Montreal.

The No. 46 Ford Fusion, with the FR9 Roush Yates engines, owned by Dusty Whitney, plans to run the remainder of the races this season in the NSCS starting at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend.

“I really like Dusty and his guys,” said Speed. “They work really hard with the little amount that they have. There is a lot of passion over here and I love how tight of a group we are, we are the underdogs and I love it.”

Speed has 79 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts, with one top-five and three top-10s, nine top-10s in 14 starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, and one win, four top-fives and nine top-10s in 16 starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

“Scott has shown us what a tremendous asset he is,” said Dusty Whitney, owner of Whitney Motorsports. “We are extremely excited about having him drive our car. He is a great guy with an amazing talent. We hope to make our mark before the season is over.”

“We have sponsors lined up for Atlanta and Kansas, and are on the prowl for the other races. I feel that Scott and this team have a lot to offer anyone that wants to get into the sport of NASCAR.”

The No. 46 Ford Fusion sits outside the top-35 in the NSCS Owners Points, therefore Scott Speed will have to qualify the car at each race.

So this is the article I read this morning and was overjoyed. Scott Speed fans like me have been waiting to hear this exciting news for months. Who knew that a top 10 at montreal would get a full time ride for the rest of the season. Yes Scott will have to qualify each race but i am so so happy for him and only can wish him the best of luck for the duration of the season! Good Luck Scott We all will be cheering you on!

Thanks for reading this brief but important blog! I cannot express how much i love the fan support for all the blogs i do! :D thank you to all who read and RT and give my blog so much love!

There's a Fire Starting in my Heart.... A Pet Peeve of Mine...

So this is a brand new style of blog writing I am doing, this is me expressing how I feel about something.. I need to note that i have been thinking about this for weeks now and it finally came to a boiling point today. I have a pet peeve about something in NASCAR and I need to say this is HOW I FEEL and I do not need hate or un-follow on twitter for saying my feelings on my blog.. ok? Alright here we go.....

So today during the NASCAR race at Michigan with about 14+ laps to go I was looking around on Twitter and saw many people just upset and mad about what was happening to their drivers. I thought maybe it was a short-term thing... even after the race people were still upset and angry and not being happy and positive. So what is my pet peeve??? My pet peeve is seeing how upset fans get before the race ends and then how downright negative people can get even after the race is over... even if their driver does do somewhat good overall.

Now before someone goes "laura it's not fair to judge us... you would feel the same if Scott didn't do well" I know that... i am not a ball of sunshine sometimes and it is okay to be like that sometimes when your driver does bad, gets wrecked or something major comes up. I know many times last year I was upset that Scott wasn't winning and he was just in the back all the time. I knew i was upset and I admitted many times. Even this year i have had a few moments where I have been frustrated before the race is over, yet during this year I have learned to be happy for the little things and be happy my driver finished.

I totally understand being upset for your driver, but it breaks my heart to see people saying it's over for their driver with 20-14 laps to go. Anything can happen in NASCAR and we forget that their could be a caution and possible G-W-C. I just want to see Twitter giving positive feedback for drivers.... I don't enjoy twitter when it is a giant sad deal... so how do I address the races to make them positive?

How To Enjoy A Race in a POSITIVE way even if your driver doesn't do well:
1) Remember they have to drive the entire time and get hot and sweaty--that's hard work!
2)We gotta be there for our drivers through the GOOD and BAD
3)They may move up in points or get a post-race interview :)
4)We can tweet them positive stuff to help encourage them for the next race
5) Just maybe cool off then think "well get em next weekend!"

Those are just 5 things i think of to help me find a positive solution. I am not saying this at anyone directly i am just generally saying on twitter i see this a lot and just want to see that we are cheering our drivers on not bashing them or bringing them down or ourselves down. So that is what i have to say about my pet peeve. I am trying to make this short and also to let you all know why i was about to blow my top off today after the race. Anyway this is HOW I FEEL... no hate towards anyone or that. I do not want to be un-followed because I expressed my opinion.. so please don't. :) Thank you for reading and have a great week! I start senior year this thursday so blogs will become a rare thing :) One more time thanks for all the support!

A Twitter Sensation over a day: Kasey Kahne's Beard is on Twitter

Time for a random blog about something that seems to have twitter buzzing a lot. Many drivers have something about them: hair, clothes, sunglasses, etc. We have even see the awesome twitter's for drivers eye color, sunglasses, beards, etc. Well this weekend Kasey Kahne came to Michigan with not just peach fuzz, but rather a beard.... ladies and gentlemen meet @DoubleKsBeard.

Made yesterday because of all the tweets and photo's of Kahne's new look, this twitter profile came up and became an instant sensation... it's bio reads "I live on the face of the sexiest driver in NASCAR. Thank God he's no longer a Gillette Young gun, now he can finally show me love, like I deserve." It began to get followers almost instantly and became a hit through the night. This twitter shows the side and daily life of Kasey Kahne's beard... it tweets about it's fear of being shaven and water. It will have a conversation with you and tell you things that will make you laugh and smile. So now we beg the question on how long will the KK beard last?

Many tweeps have told the beard it will be a short-term friendship before Kahne shaves it off. The beard disagree's and says that the beard will stay for a while. Beyond just tweeting regular tweeps, the beard tweets drivers, journalists and more. Even the beard has gotten in touch with the famous Mini_Chad on twitter and the orange cone. Let's just say the beard is becoming the newest tweeter and people have no problem in telling people to go follow this awesome beard.

What is my view on the beard? I think it's very fun and cool to see it on twitter and interacting with everyone. I feel as though twitter is a site where this can happen and is a very cool place. Now we have seen Dale Jr's beard on here as well... do we ever think there will be conflict between KK's beard and Jr's?

If you have no seen the beard... go to twitter.com and look up @DoubleKsBeard and see some of the tweets and maybe give a follow... one tweet from last night made many tweeps laugh out loud... "Dear @KaseyKahne, thank you so much for not snoring at night. However, the singing in the shower has to stop.. I can't get lathered up to get clean, wish you singing I will always love you, to me . I will always love you too" As you can tell the beard keeps us informed of all the new updates with his owner or boss.

As the beard continues to gain followers and fame we can only hope to see more of this beard and hope that Kasey Kahne keeps the look. For long times Kahne will have the "peach fuzz" look which is some beard but not enough... he now has a beard and many fans adore it and want it to stay. I hope you all enjoyed this short blog on one of the newest things to come to twitter and I hope you all enjoy the Michigan race tomorrow and just maybe we will see that beard in Victory Lane!

Scott Speed Makes A Statement at Montreal Earning a Top 10

Well hello hello! Time for a new blog that is going to be short and sweet but is def a interesting one. Some exciting news happened today: I got home from my trip! Okay that was not the exciting news you were thinking of, the actual news is that Scott Speed earned a Top 10 finish at Montreal today! How exciting is that! All i know is I cried happy tears of joy and was cheering from my couch. Now why in the world am I writing this small blog?? Let me explain myself better....

Scott raced three races in cup and did not have the best luck for him. This race at Montreal was his last race for a while or until he gets picked up by a team (I hope that happens). He raced for KHI this Saturday and Montreal is a tricky road coarse with many twists and turns. Scott had qualified 4th for the race and it looked like he could possibly win this race. I know as i watched the laps tick by I was nervous for all that was about to happen. In the end Scott had a little bump by another car and that caused him to fall back.. but by sheer luck he was able to move up to p.11 with 4 laps to go. Scott held off and pulled up to 6th place and finished the race strong.

There was no interview for Scott or anything, but to me he did an amazing job. Amanda tweeted that Scott was bummed out because if they hadn't had the incidents they could of had a chance at winning. Even Scott tweeted his frustration, but my timeline flooded with love for Scott and telling him he still did great even with all that had happened.

I asked people on twitter their feelings on scott's top 10 and these were the responses :)

These two responses just define how much love their truly is for Scott. Even though he was disappointed... fans are still cheering him on to victory soon. The question I now want to know is what is his future for 2012 looking like? I hope you all enjoyed this blog and I cannot wait to write a new blog very soon! Also this is MY OPINION and i do not want any hate comments on it :)
